French Alencon Placemat Set
For the love of French lace is this wonderful 17 piece placemat set. Possibly vintage late 1940s, the machine-made lace has a lovely swirly floral pattern. To outline the designs, cordonnet has been hand sewn on the lace to outline the pattern and for dimension ~ do take a magnifier and see the detail. NEVER used, original pinned on paper tag which reads MADE IN FRANCE, plus a fabric tag on one napkin. The 8 (eight) placemats measure 18" long x 12" deep. The 8 (eight) napkins with unbleached pure linen centers are 17" x 17". Since this set never been washed, it's still spotless and ready to use except I would gently wash the napkins. The 1 (one) center runner is 36" long x 13" wide. Finally, a lace placemat set with NO problems, NO excuses!
