Delightful trio of vintage guest fingertip towels by BENJ. M. JABARA, & SONS, Madeira, Portugal in the ROSE TREE Pattern. Finest snow white woven Northern Ireland linen has all Madeiran dimensional hand embroidery in two tones of French blue cotton embroidery floss plus green for the interspersed leaves and beige for the trunk. Notice the jagged edge on both ends which duplicates the stone blocks on which ROSE TREE plant pots were placed on the island. Remember, Emile Marghab once worked with Jabara. When Emile left Jabara to open his company with Vera, he possibly took this pattern with him so, in essence, Jabara's Rose Tree is the original pattern while Marghab's Rose Tree pattern is a copy. . . Measure 13.25" long x 8.75" wide.
